    Great family meal & drinks

    Thank you, we had a lovely meal at the Ugly Duck last night. We couldn't fault the food, all very hot, tasty and a great range! The service was fab. It was busy but they managed ok. Well-priced drinks.

Stylish pub dining in central Paisley

The Ugly Duck is a swish bar on Paisley High Street serving up stomach-filling dishes. Classic chequered floors, jazzy wallpaper and comfy banquette seating all make this a bright and breezy hangout for enjoying a meal. Live sports TV keeps things buzzing.

Range of hearty choices

The Ugly Duck’s menu is crammed with crowd-pleasers designed to ensure that no one leaves feeling hungry. Highlights of the small plate selection include battered chilli beef strips; panko-breaded calamari rings, and chicken & chorizo lollipops. Veggies can sample breaded halloumi bites or oven-baked nachos. Over in the mains, choices include chicken, ham & leek pie; Thai green curry, and sizzling fajitas with chicken or chargrilled vegetables. All burgers are delivered fresh from the butchers, then chargrilled and served up with chunky chips. Choices include a chargrilled chicken burger with sweet chilli; Mexican burger wrapped in a tortilla, or breadcrumbed veggie burger with red pepper & pesto.

Close to the main train station and shopping centre, The Ugly Duck is also handy for Paisley Arts Centre, the Museum & Art Gallery and the Coats Observatory. As it is only a three-minute walk from the UWS campus, it would make a great pit-stop for students.
