  The standard of food has gone down

  We have eaten here several times over the years. Not been for 3 years, and the standard has definitely dropped. There was still a good selection of food, but the quality was disappointing. Not the same standard it was previously. The staff were friendly and helpful and the restaurant was pleasant and clean. We probably wont return.

Popular Chinese restaurant at Salford Quays

The Real China is in the Lowry Outlet, part of Salford Quays. An oriental buffet restaurant, it offers weary shoppers a chance to relax over a plate of spare ribs and some sweet and sour pork. It is also handy for a bite before or after a film at the nearby Vue cinema. The interior is spacious and decked out in a clean, contemporary style. Check out the koi in the water feature.

Wide choice of classic Chinese dishes

Diners are spoiled for choice at The Real China. Regularly refreshed and topped up, the large buffet includes classic Chinese dishes such as chicken in black bean sauce, roast pork in plum sauce and mushrooms in oyster sauce. As well as a selection of sushi, there is a range of dim sum and a choice of curries including both red and green Thai curries, a Malaysian chicken curry and our old friend chicken tikka masala.

Diners can finish their meal on a sweet note. Banana and apple fritters vie for attention with ice cream, fresh fruit, jellies and cakes.

Salford Quays transport links

The Real China is in the Lowry Outlet at Salford Quays. A multi-story car park offers ample parking. Salford quays can also be reached from either Manchester Piccadilly or Victoria train stations using the Metrolink tram. Local attractions include a Vue cinema and MediaCityUK.
