  Super lunch

  Really super lunch at Brown's Bar & Brasserie. Our waiter was attentive, and offered suggestions about which wines we should have as we had chosen different dishes. He was very pleasant, with perfect timing. We would certainly return. A lovely relaxing experience.

Classic brasserie in city centre

With the first Browns opening in 1973, this family of classic brasseries has had plenty of time to polish its offer. Stylish, timeless interiors; smartly turned out staff and simple but well sourced and prepared dishes are key. Located in the old General Post Office building on George Square, the Browns Brasserie and Bar in Glasgow fits the mould neatly. A live pianist keeps the atmosphere sparkling on a Friday 6pm – 8pm and Sunday from 3pm – 6pm.

All day menus

From breakfast through to end of evening cocktail night caps, Browns Brasserie and Bar offers dishes for every meal time and all points in between. With sharing platters, bar snacks, steaks, burgers and classics among the diverse menu sections, there is no shortage of choice. There are always seasonal dishes, such as the baked scallops starter, as well as much loved classics. Typical of the latter are the steak and Guinness pie; roast chicken Caesar salad and the fish and chips.

Local transport and attractions

Browns Bar and Brasserie is on George Square in Glasgow city centre. The city’s main transport hubs at Queen Street and Central Station are both within a five minute walk. There is limited on-street parking as well as pay parking at North Hanover Street. Nearby attractions include Glasgow Royal Concert Halls and the shopping opportunities of Buchanan Street.
