I only get my nails done (hands and toes) when I’m going on holiday but I always use this salon. Prices are great the service is excellent and my gel nails last for ages. The staff are very friendly. I’ve also used them for eyebrow waxing and tint which I recommend. Only reason I don’t get this done is because I prefer threading.

Spacious tanning, beauty and hair salon
Glow Skin Centre & Tanning Salon is just south of Glasgow city centre. The salon is run by a team of fully trained beauty therapists, plus Debi, a qualified hair stylist. The team pride themselves on keeping up with all the latest trends.
Glow’s bright idea of having tanning, beauty and hair services all in one place means that you can give yourself a total glam overhaul in one go, so pre-party makeovers ahoy. Inside, the layout is modern and spacious, giving you plenty of room to unwind. Soothing candles and flowers help to create a relaxing vibe, plus tea, coffee and juice are provided.
The salon team are specialists in tanning, but they also offer plenty of other services. These include waxing packages for men and women, lash extensions, makeup, manicures, facials and massages (including tailored sports massages for active types).
Glow has the added perks of free parking and late opening hours, making this the ideal beauty escape for anyone with a busy schedule (which is basically all of us).
Golden tans and silky skin
As mentioned, the Glow team are experts on giving you that all-over golden hue, with either an Australian Gold Tanning spray treatment or sunbed session.
If you are seeking smooth and lovely skin, the salon offers high-end Dermalogica products, including mineral salt scrubs and mud poultice body wraps with botanical aromas. Bonus – Dermalogica isn’t tested on animals.
Other popular treatments at Glow include Marvelash, HD Brows and Shellac Nails. Hair products used include Schwarzkopf, Bed Head, Loreal, NXT, Goldwell, Matrix and Colorissmo.
How to get there
Glow Skin Centre & Tanning Salon is based on Crown Street in the Gorbals, just along from the library. Bridge Street Underground is around a ten minute walk away and it’s only a fifteen minute drive from the city centre. As mentioned, parking is free for customers, giving you one less thing to worry about.
