<b>Weekend Away With Friends:</b> We were a little wary having seen the rating on Booking.com but the rooms were excellent and the pub had a great atmosphere. The staff were also friendly and helpful. Very central location. Breakfast was also very good. Would definitely recommend.

<b>Good beer:</b> Friendly bar staff, great beer and enjoyed our drinks in front of the roaring log fire - whats not to love ! We came back in the evening to try the food but unfortunately we'd missed the service as it cloased early due to a private function - maybe next time, fingers crossed !

<b>Good food at a good price:</b> We were in Wells to attend a conceet in the Cathedral and stayed the night here. The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. I would certainly come back and can recommend this as a good place to stay if exploring the City and surrounding area.
