You couldn’t visit this corner of Scotland without taking time for Loch Lomond. The freshwater Loch Lomond is the largest inland stretch of water in Britain, stretching 24 miles from Balloch. Marvel at its majesty and try to spot the islands peppered across it. Immerse yourself further with a boat trip, you’ll cruise the reflective waters of the Loch and soak up (no water we hope!) the rich history and culture of the area.
For something a little more ‘ground’ing, make sure to explore The Trossachs National Park for all manner of mountains, walks, climbs and views. For the brave of us, Ben Lomond is a 974m mountain daring you to climb. Get a bird's eye view of Loch Lomond whilst feeling light on your feet too as you watch the diverse birdlife. Return to earth and discover the mystical Queen Elizabeth Forest Park for even more paths, walks and stunning surroundings.
Step back in time at the ruins of Buchanan Castle. Built by the 4th Duke of Montrose, its walls are ivy-wrapped and its interior is invaded by plants – you’ll feel as if you’re in a forgotten magical land.

Great Stay Hotel was lovely. Clean and very comfortable. A fabulous base. Beautiful village. Staff were very friendly and food in bar and at breakfast was delicious. Nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely revisit and highly recommend this hotel.

Very thorough service, entertainment and food was excellent Beautiful hotel and very friendly staff. Excellent food and service. Day trip were good value as was the all inclusive meals and drinks 🍻 Excellent value for money Stay was very good and hotel was beautiful and clean. Would highly recommend this trip!!

Overnight in Drymen Great wee overnighter to the Winnock one of our favourite places, big shout out to Angela Scott thanks for making our stay extra special ❤️, dinner was fab, excellent service right down to the fire in the lounge area - we shall return soon for sure
