Perhaps the island’s most famous tourist attraction is Knossos, once the centre of Minoan civilisation the ruins are an incredible window into the past. Just 5km south of Heraklion, the site is easily reached by anyone wanting to explore the ruins and wander about the Minoan palace, a place connected with thrilling legends, such as the myth of the Labyrinth, the Minotaur, Daidalos and Ikaros.
Away from its ancient history, Crete has spectacular landscapes which make for memorable hikes. Trek through gorges, meander among olive groves and tackle some of the island's highest peaks and you’ll be in for breath-taking views every step of the way.

Friendliest hotel. Rooms are of a high quality, be try clean and comfortable. Staff were excellent, all polite, well mannered and very helpful. Big thank you to Antonis who assisted me to when my planned tour was cancelled, I was able to see parts of the beautiful island.

Just returned from a 50th wedding anniversary stay at the 5 star Galaxy hotel in Heraklion. The hotel is located within easy walking distance of the city centre and ideally situated for local beaches and exploring historical sites. The hotels greatest asset is undoubtedly its staff. They are friendly, efficient and completely focused on delighting their customers. A special mention for Anthi on front desk, Cristos, Erine and Natalia who made our stay extra special.

Amazing experience. It was such an amazing experience: perfect location, delicious restaurant and very rich breakfast. However what’s make the difference is the staff. Top quality service, in particular Heirini, she was great during all our stay! She was always gentle , professional and kind! I highly recommend this hotel .
