A fabulous mix of freesias ready to brighten up any garden with vibrant colour, elegant form, and a fragrance that’s downright irresistible. These gorgeous, trumpet-shaped blooms don’t just look good, they smell amazing too! Easy to grow and happiest in a sunny spot with well-drained soil, they’re perfect for adding a pop of cheer to borders, pots, or beds. Plus, they make stunning-cut flowers, so expect plenty of homegrown bouquets. A must-have for cottage garden charm with zero fuss!

Care tips

  • Plant freesias outside from April to May, placing the corms directly into well-drained soil with the pointy end facing upwards. Choose a sunny or lightly shaded spot for best results.
  • Once the plants start growing, feed them with a potash-rich fertiliser to encourage healthy blooms.
  • For container planting, use six bulbs per pot, setting them 1-2 inches deep in high-quality compost with added grit for drainage.
  • Keep container-grown freesias moist but not waterlogged. A cold greenhouse or conservatory provides the ideal shaded environment before sprouting.
  • When shoots appear, move the pots into full sunlight and continue watering. Once the buds show colour, bring them indoors for display.
  • After flowering, remove faded blooms and keep watering and feeding until the foliage starts to brown. Then, stop watering to allow the corms to rest.
  • To encourage offsets of this freesias bulb collection for the next season, ensure at least eight weeks of growth. If keeping for another year, allow the foliage to dry off completely by early July.
