We went to Arigo for an early dinner on a Monday evening. It was quiet but there were enough patrons to give it some atmosphere. The early evening menu had a nice choice of food, although we were disappointed that there was no pizza choice, as there was one on the 5pm sample menu. Added drinks, a side of focaccia, desserts and coffees and the bill was still just over £50 for two, so great value. Couldn’t fault any of the food!

Going to Arigo on a fixed price lunch deal, I wasn’t sure about what to expect, however from entering to leaving, it was fantastic. Staff were so lovely, all dishes were so tasty and well presented. Had a lovely relaxed atmosphere so we will return sooner rather than later.

Promising exceptional Italian food with impeccable service, Arigo is based in East Kilbride’s dining hub of The Village. Vivid turquoise banquette seating, wooden tables and tiled flooring all combine to create a vibe that’s both stylish and rustic. The thoughtful wine menu showcases labels from different regions of Italy and also includes environmentally conscious choices.
Arigo wears its heart on its sleeve when it comes to offering guests a true Italian dining experience. If you fancy a treat, you can enjoy a full feast of antipasti or a sharing platter followed by primi (pasta or risotto), secondi (meat or fish) and finally a freshly made, traditional dessert from the cabinet. Pizzas are also available.
The menu is filled with many speciality dishes that you might not have tried before. Highlights include the fried calamari & whitebait sharing board and the antipasti dish of Parma ham, pears poached in Prosecco & parmesan shavings.
From the pasta section you can tuck into choices like rich lobster ravioli in an avocado pear; large ribbon egg pasta with slow cooked duck leg in white wine, butter & cream, and a veggie ricotta gnocchi with mozzarella sauce. Pizza toppings include spicy sausage & salami Milano; baby meatballs & soft cheese and a classic mozzarella & tomato.
Options from the meat and fish selection include whole lemon sole with crispy capers in brown butter; slow-cooked lamb with shallots, rosemary & red wine reduction, and veal scallops topped with Parma ham & sage in a white wine sauce. Or you could opt for a tasty sirloin steak cooked any way you please.
Arigo is based on Hunter Street in East Kilbride, a quick drive from the main shopping centre, Odeon Cinema and Arts Centre. It’s also only a short stroll away from East Kilbride train station and the Village Theatre, making it ideal for dining before a show.
