  Great restaurant and bar. Excellent choice of gin, staff are very well informed. The chicken, 3 sides and wine offer for £25 was so good that we have booked again! Can't praise Virginia Bar highly enough

  Great Food, Interesting venue

  The chicken was succulent and very tasty. We were in the £25 deal which was very good value. We both had a glass of Flagstone red wine which was very nice. This restaurant specialises in gin and there is a big choice. I had a Mark Miller gin and fever tree tonic served in a lovely glass. Well worth a visit and would not hesitate to recommend. Hope to go back soon. The restaurant is hidden away in a small lane off Miller Street but is very interesting.

Chicken rotisserie and gin bar in Merchant City

Putting the gin into Virginia Court, Virginia is a chicken rotisserie restaurant and cocktail bar in the Merchant City. An offshoot of the popular Cup Glasgow tea-driven outlets, Virginia opens in the evenings for delicious food and an ever changing menu of exciting cocktails as well as a huge selection of premium gin. Check the penny-topped bar for a flavour of Virginia’s unique style while gin lovers may want to cast an eye over the gin master classes.

Free range chicken and sides

‘Do one thing but do it as well as possible’ could be the motto in the kitchen at Virginia. Their menu is correspondingly simple. Free range chickens are sourced from the respected Gartmorn Farm in Alloa. These top quality chickens are carefully roasted on and served whole, in halves and in quarters. The succulent chickens are served with hand-cut, triple-cooked chips, the house baked beans, creamy slaw, corn on the cob or mac ‘n’ cheese. Simple but irresistible.

Merchant City transport links and attractions

Located on Virginia Court, just off Virginia Street, Virginia is a brisk five minute walk from Queen Street and Central train stations. There is restricted on-street parking and a pay car park on Ingram Street. Local attractions include the City Halls and the Old Fruitmarket.
