We really enjoyed this, great chilled atmosphere, background music but could easily hold a conversation across the table without shouting - a rarity in Glasgow. Our halloumi burger was very nice and drinks great value. We will definitely be returning... regularly

Again popped in for a quick bite before theatre. Tried the bargain 2 pizza for under£10 deal - both were great. Relaxed and informal setting - food always well cooked.

The Art School is a lively music and events centre on Scott Street. It sits opposite the historic Mackintosh building, just behind Sauchiehall Street. Affectionately known as The Vic, it was first built in 1928 and extensively refurbished in 2013. Part of Glasgow School of Art Students’ Association, it has long been at the heart of Glasgow’s dynamic music, arts and clubbing scenes. It is open to all.
As well as a very popular Saturday brunch, The Art School serves a wide range of street food from around the globe. Smoked brisket sandwiches rub shoulders with eggs in a coconut masala, burgers, pizzas, crisp Vietnamese salads and South African bunny chow curries.
Vegetarians are well catered for with everything from a veggie cooked breakfast to tandoori halloumi burgers, veggie steamed yum buns and pickled vegetable salads.
An international spirits selection; good cocktail choice and beers from local breweries such as West and William Brothers add to The Vic’s appeal.
The Art School is accessed via Scott Street. Central and Queen Street stations are a fifteen minute walk. The nearest train station is at Charing Cross while the nearest subway is Cowcaddens. There is limited street parking in the area. Nearby attractions include the King’s Theatre plus the clubs and live music venues of Sauchiehall Street. The Vic often plays host to bands, club nights and exhibitions.
