This was a catch up with an old friend as we hadn’t really caught up during COVID situation. EVOO was perfect.
From arrival to departure everything was looked after exceptionally well. Screens, spacing and hand gel were all present and correct. Food was absolutely delicious. Drinks were served well, timely and value for money. Service was provided by 2 waitresses (shift change?) equally excellent throughout our time. I would happily recommend EVOO to anyone looking for city dining.
A brightly coloured city centre restaurant, EVOO specialises in serving up a variety of Mediterranean flavours, small plate style. Alternatively, you can drop by for brunch or a coffee, or relax with a cocktail, wine, beer or perfect serve gin. The restaurant’s closeness to the Theatre Royal makes it a handy pre-theatre option as well.
Italian, Spanish, Greek and even Moroccan cooking styles are all on show at EVOO. As you might guess by the name, there is even a range of flavoured extra virgin olive oils to sample (make sure to mop one up with a side of freshly baked bread).
Small plates are split into fish, meat and veggie options (with vegan and gluten-free dishes available). Highlights include grilled langoustines in hot ‘nduja butter; mussels in Greek saganaki sauce; Moroccan lemon chicken tagine with olive, spinach & pomegranate couscous, and tarragon & truffle wild mushroom crostini with black olive tapenade.
Afterwards, why not treat yourself to a sweet bite such as hazelnut tiramisu or chocolate & cherry brownie with pistachio ice cream?
Or if you fancy combining shopping with a spot of brunch, then highlights include apple ricotta pancakes with bacon butter or baked eggs in a chorizo & chickpea shakshuka.
Just a stroll away from the Theatre Royal, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and Cineworld, EVOO is also close to Buchanan Bus Station and Cowcaddens Subway. You can find pay parking at the Concert Hall.
