Annabel’s Restaurant is an opulent, Art Nouveau style dining spot in the sweeping Boclair House hotel. Plush red velvet seating, vintage decor touches and soft ambient lighting all add to the elegant atmosphere. Imagine turn-of-the-century Parisian bar meets Victorian gentleman’s library and you get the picture. This is the ideal destination for an intimate date or a tasteful celebration with friends.
The menu at Annabel’s could be described as classic cuisine with a modern twist, accompanied (if you so wish) by expertly made cocktails.
Dishes can shift with the seasons, but sample starters might include the gin cured salmon with avocado, cucumber & orange, the black pudding & soft poached egg with chorizo crumb & hollandaise sauce, and the lentil soup with a warm bread roll.
Typical mains might be the pork fillet with mash potato & black pudding bon bon, the pan seared duck with celeriac fondant, root vegetables and jus, and the wild mushroom risotto with truffle cream.
For dessert, expect tempting delights like the raspberry parfait with Scottish raspberries and meringue, the spiced poached pear with chocolate sauce and ice cream, and the sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce and vanilla ice cream.
Annabel’s Restaurant is on Milngavie Road, a five minute walk from Hillfoot train station. If you are driving, there is free parking for up to two hours at Douglas Place, a ten minute walk away. Both Douglas Park Golf Club and Glasgow Golf Club are a short drive from the restaurant, should you fancy dining after a round.
