About Kalpna Restaurant

Long running vegetarian Indian

Located on St Patrick Square, Kalpna is almost certainly Edinburgh’s most well known vegetarian Indian. A family-run venture, it has been going strong for decades. Punjabi, Gujurati and South Indian dishes are the mainstay of the menu. The thali combo trays and lunchtime buffets are deservedly popular. The signature dish is the dam aloo Kashmeri – potato barrels filled with mixed vegetables, paneer and nuts served in a combination of a fresh tomato, honey and ginger sauce plus a creamy almond and saffron sauce.
