What a thoroughly enjoyable experience, from the delicious food (prawns were scrumptious as was my Cod main dish) the service was warm, welcoming and extremely efficient, and the overall ambiance was lovely. So worth a visit!

Amarone is a stylish Italian restaurant positioned beside Buchanan Street Subway station in Glasgow’s city centre. Ideally located for theatre-goers and weary shoppers, the restaurant is also a popular choice for a romantic rendezvous or just an informal meal with friends or family.
The restaurant’s chefs use the freshest produce in their dishes and, where possible, will alter any dish to meet special requests or dietary requirements. Amarone’s signature dish is their antipasto misto, which consists of a selection of Italian cured meats, grilled and marinated vegetables and mozzarella.
The menu has an admirable selection of pizzas and pastas, as well as plenty of meat and seafood dishes, but don’t necessarily expect the usual fare – Amarone is perfect if you’re in the mood for Italian food, but would like to try something new. The restaurant’s cappesante con pancetta (seared Scottish king scallops with pancetta) is popular amongst diners, as is the rack of lamb with sauteed potatoes.
Amarone is child friendly, wheelchair accessible, and located at the corner of Buchanan Street and Nelson Mandela Square, next to Buchanan Street Subway station. The Royal Concert Hall is a 2 minute walk away, as is Queen Street train station, bus stops and a taxi rank. Central Station is also within walking distance.
