The Sorn Inn was the venue of choice for our anniversary. The staff were very attentive, the menu attractive and food superb. We live locally but were not aware it was offering such excellent food and service. We will be cascading this news to our friends and local neighbour community for sure.

The Sorn Inn is an intimate family-run gastropub beside the River Ayr in the peaceful village of Sorn. Inside, you will find quality local cuisine with a European twist all served in an elegantly rustic setting.
Soon is just under an hour’s drive from Glasgow and is known for its beautiful church, hump-backed river bridge and 14th century castle.
The Sorn Inn serves up a fusion of fine dining and brasserie-style food using the best seasonal and local ingredients available. Steaks, seafood and chef’s specialities are all featured, often crowned in tempting bistro-style sauces. The menu is accompanied by wine and cocktail lists.
Steaks are a feature at the inn and are sourced from Aberdeen Angus beef. All are dry-cured for at least 28 days before being coated in special Sorn Inn seasoning (the recipe is a closely guarded secret). Cuts include Chateaubriand, sirloin, fillet, tomahawk, t-bone, rib eye and New York sharer.
Other menu highlights include Ayrshire lobster with garlic & hazelnut butter; pan-fried Scottish salmon with Champagne & lemon butter sauce, and roast sirloin of Ayrshire venison with beetroot & wine sauce.
Vegetarians can tuck into dishes like the Sorn Inn Ploughman’s featuring a range of local cheeses. A children’s menu is also available.
As well as village attractions like the church, castle and river, you will also be a short drive away from 18th century Dumfries House with its celebrated furniture collection.
Other local attractions include Peden’s Cave, the Dick Institute Museum and Dean Castle Country Park.
