The £12pp for 2 courses was a great deal, wine was reasonable at £20-25, we had pinot noir and it was beautiful. Ordered mussels to start, amazing and quite a big portion, my partner had rabbit terrine and again, good quality and large portion for a starter. Mains we had gnocchi and the sausage/harissa - both very nice. Got sat at private booth without requesting which was lovely. No fish option on rustic menu would be my only criticism.

Parisian ambience and French cuisine are the key raisons d’etre of Montmartre Restaurant in Aberdeen city centre. With a decor inspired by Toulouse Lautrec, Montmartre aims to take diners back to the bohemian atmosphere of 19th century Paris.
Traditional French classics are prominent on the menus but the Montmartre kitchen also knows its way around contemporary French cooking – the presentation, in particular, would not look out of place in a hip bistro by the Seine. No surprise, perhaps, when the chef at Montmartre trained in Paris.
Right in the heart of Aberdeen, on Justice Mill Lane, Montmartre uses the best fresh, local produce to create fine French dishes. As well as a lunch and dinner menu, Montmartre has a fondue menu which offers a selection of savoury and sweet fondues for customers enjoy.
While menus will change according to what is in season, typical starters at Montmartre might include the pan-seared scallops with a tomato and coral ragout or the traditional ham and mushroom galette served with a Cognac sauce. Popular main courses include dishes such as lamb leg stuffed with a chestnut and sage saucisson and, of course, the beef fillet served with French fries and a red wine jus.
Put simply, if you are looking for a great French restaurant in Aberdeen city centre then say ‘Bonjour’ to Montmartre.
Montmartre Restaurant is in central Aberdeen and close to all the main transport links. Aberdeen bus and train stations are around a ten minute walk and there is limited on street parketing nearby.
