Trafford Hall is a red and white landmark close to Manchester’s Old Trafford football stadium. This recently renovated boutique hotel has kept many of its original Victorian features, including a sweeping staircase and beautifully decorated dining room where breakfast is served.

Guests can also dine in the stylish Signature Steakhouse and enjoy a drink or snack in the 1887 Sports Bar & Cafe (so named after the year the Royal Jubilee Exhibition took place in Old Trafford).

All of the colourful and contemporary rooms have comfy beds, a hospitality tray and an LCD TV with the added perk of Netflix.

The upgraded deluxe rooms are extra comfortable, have been fully renovated and include a sofa area for relaxing. Executive rooms have super king-sized beds; tub chairs; robes & slippers, and a hospitality tray with water and chocolates.

Gourmet steakhouse dining

Trafford Hall’s Signature Steakhouse is a chic yet easygoing dining space that serves up a range of quality grill dishes, as well as a vegan menu.

Starters include salmon tartare, herb & chilli calamari or peach burrata, while mains are divided into steaks, burgers and meat-free choices.

All of the 32-day dry-aged Heritage Steaks are sourced from trusted local butcher, Farmisons. They include sirloin, t-bone, fillet, rib eye, rump and flat iron.

Signature burgers include satay & chilli jam; blue cheese & bacon and BBQ honey. Veggies can tuck into options like seitan steak or halloumi & pear burger. There is also a range of delectable small plates such as russet potato with asparagus, Roma tomato, parmesan and sour cream & chives.

If you have room for dessert, then a definite highlight is the molten lava cake.
