The Royal Highland Hotel opened in Inverness in 1854, just one year before the steam train network reached the town.

The age of steam has passed but the age of elegant hotels lives on at The Royal Highland Hotel which is on Station Square right next to the railway station.

This grand hotel, the sweeping staircase is modelled on The Titanic’s , is right in the centre of Inverness.

Done out in rich cherry wood and taupe colours, it offers diners a choice of dishes which range from traditional Scottish cuisine to modern, creative choices influenced by world cuisines.

Some of the world’s finest beef, lamb and game are naturally-reared and matured on the hills and pastures around the hotel. Shellfish and fish come from the clear waters around the Moray Firth and Hebridean ports, salmon and sea trout from Highland lochs and rivers. All are cooked with flair and imagination at Ash.

The hotel’s Gallery Cafe offers casual dining hosting a varied menu, available all day, featuring many dishes and delicious light bites and pastries inspired by traditional Scottish cuisine.
