Like the rest of the hotel, the decor celebrates Glasgow’s history with vintage photographs that transport you back to the city’s industrial glory days. Yet the rest of the interior is thoroughly modern and surrounded by an open kitchen where you can watch the chefs at work. The piece-de-resistance is the fiery charcoal Josper oven and grill, which delivers memorable, intense flavours.

The menu offers a combination of creative Scottish cuisine and pub grub classics. Sample starters includes the guest favourite of potato scone nachos or a playful chip shop platter with the chef’s own Laphroaig whisky mayo. You can also sample the best of the Josper grill with tender steaks hung on the bone for seven days, or tuck into local seafood such as fish & chips encased in St. Mungo beer batter.
