The estate also has a total of two 18-hole golf courses, including a championship one.

The fine dining space of the Pentland Restaurant overlooks the championship golf course, while the more relaxed James Braid Brasserie offers beautiful views of the grounds through its huge windows.

A commitment to local produce from sustainable sources is reflected in the Scottish-inspired menus. The chefs produce a range of seasonal menus using hand-picked ingredients, some of which are freshly grown in the on-site herb garden.

Menus can change, but sample mains include the pan-seared cod fillet with squid ink risotto, lemon gel and salmon caviar; the oven roast lamb rump with braised kale, roasted squash, crispy gnocchi and black olive crumb, and the seared halloumi cheese with sweetcorn fritter, roasted root vegetables, pea purée, puy lentils, harissa paste and candied walnuts.
