Menus can shift with the seasons, but expect starters such as the black pudding and pear salad with crushed walnuts and honey dressing; the chicken satay skewers with peanut dip and crisp salad, and the duo of melon with grenadine syrup and mango sorbet.

Mains might include the pan-seared sea bass with basil bashed new potatoes, lime salsa and coriander dressing; the peppered breast of chicken with roasted root vegetables, creamed potatoes and perfect pepper sauce, and the chickpea dahl with poppadum, naan bread and braised rice.

Use of nearby fitness centre

A short stroll from the hotel is the Kilmarnock Football Club Fitness Centre, which guests can use*.
